Please help us welcome our spring semester intern Geo Borden! Geo will be helping out with development research and programming. We feel extremely blessed to have her. We know she is destined for big things!
A litte bit about Geo: a high school senior pursuing an Associates of the Arts in Liberal Arts while earning her high school degree. She describes herself as an unrelenting doodler, and an avid listener of spanish ballads, Big Band Jazz and A Tribe Called Quest . She loves thrift-ing, finding obscure bike routes in the Bronx, reading good novels and dragging my friends to museums. She hopes to go on and study Urban Policy, Environmental Studies, and Ethnic Studies in college, hopefully in California.
When asked why she wanted to work with TBP she responded, "There's so much work to be done in achieving food justice and amplifying the voices of underrepresented people in the Bronx; I hope to take part in the change and make someone's voice a little louder by working with the BLk ProjeK.
Favorite fruit: Pomegranate
Favorite Vegetable: A tie between Zucchini &Mushroom
Her SheRo: I never known a woman who can find a way to be so resilient and strong and still have the best sense of humor like she does. She's taught me so much and has given me the world, I hope I can live up to the model she's built for me.
